Analyst, Cost Accountant

The Cost Accounting Analyst in Operations Finance, under general direction is responsible for product and inventory costing and analysis, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) costing in DMS, costing and analysis of finished goods, semi-finished goods, ingredients and packaging, and general ledger closing and reporting responsibilities. Additionally, he/she ensures that appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter…

Bill of Materials (BOMs) product costing to generate transfer prices and ensures that they are accurately costed, including maintaining DMS manufacturing processes

Reviews and ensures proper and accurate standard costing for ingredients, packaging, semi-finished and finished goods

Reviews, investigates, and resolves material cost variances between standard and actual costs

Performs month end closing responsibilities including preparing and uploading journal entries into SAP, running financial reports and assist in researching material variances

Support the annual Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), mid-year forecast, and annual plant operations budgeting processes

Supports Power BI Dashboard reporting by extracting source data from SAP and other systems

Analyzing large datasets to identify trends and insights, informing business decisions

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators

Supports plant Finance Administration Managers (FAMS) with month end close and analysis

Support internal and external audits 

You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have…

Education – Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business

Experience – 2+ years of finance/accounting work experience

Some cost/plant accounting experience a plus

Prior SAP experience a plus

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting requirements

Team/collaborative player, strong work ethic and must show ownership of work, and willingness to learn new processes/systems

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Energetic, quick-learner who is driven to produce a high-quality product

Ability to analyze, research and solve problems

Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs

Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company, and external stakeholders

Skills in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail

Salary Range: $60,135 to $78,930

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
