Job Description

Renesas is seeking an Analog IC Design Engineer for our Power Product Group, Performance Computing Power Team in Catania (Italy).  Reporting to the Design Engineering Director, you will have responsibility for the design, verification and validation of power management IC’s that supply power to the world’s largest and most advanced computing platforms. Your responsibilities encompass the full design cycle which spans product definition through IC validation. 

 

Responsibilities

Perform transistor-level design of mixed-signal power management circuit blocksEvaluate tradeoffs among different circuit topologies for performance and areaOversee the work of Layout EngineersWrite design review documentation, prepare verification and validation plansConduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure design quality and compliance with specificationsParticipate in test specification development and support Test EngineersSupport Validation Engineer during lab debug and datasheet compliance testingSupport Application Engineering and Product Engineering
Qualifications

 

MSc in Electrical EngineeringKnowledge of CMOS and bipolar transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, inductorsKnowledge of BCD technologiesAbility to design basic blocks, run process/voltage/temperature (PVT) corners and Monte Carlo mismatch simulationsKnowledge of voltage and current references, current mirrors, amplifiers, comparators, oscillators & clocking circuits, digital gatesKnowledge of feedback control systemsKnowledge of behavioral modeling languages (Verilog or similar) is a plusFamiliarity with switch-mode power conversion topologies and LDO regulatorsFamiliarity with Cadence design toolsFamiliarity with electronic test equipmentGood communication skillsGood knowledge of written and spoken English
