We are inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, Accounts Payable
Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable function across all regions and entities, ensuring onetime, compliant, and cost-efficient vendor payments while optimizing working capital, standardizing global processes, and enabling automation at scale. Own AP policy, service delivery model, risk controls, data quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
1) Strategy Governance
Define and maintain the global AP strategy, operating model, and long term roadmap aligned to Finance and Procurement goals.
Own global AP policies and procedures.Drive standardization and harmonization across countries, ERPs, and business units.
Establish a global AP taxonomy (invoice types, exceptions, reason codes) and a single source of truth for AP data.
2) EndtoEnd Process Ownership
Oversee invoice intake (invoicing, supplier portals, EDI, scanning/OCR) and threeway matching (PO/GR/invoice) and nonPO invoice workflows.
Manage exception handling (price/quantity variances, missing PO, duplicate invoices) with clear SLAs and escalation paths.
Coordinate intercompany AP and crossborder settlements where applicable.
3) Controls, Compliance Risk
Ensure adherence to SOX/ICOFR controls, segregation of duties, and audit trails.
Maintain compliance with local tax rules (e.g., VAT/GST, TDS/withholding, 1099/1042S, einvoicing mandates) and statutory retention requirements.
Implement payment security (bank account verification, positive pay, sanction screening) and fraud prevention (redflag monitoring, vendor changes controls).
Lead support for internal/external audits, timely remediation of findings, and control effectiveness testing.
4) Working Capital Treasury Alignment
Optimize Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) while balancing supplier relationships and discount capture.
Partner with Treasury to manage payment methods (ACH/SEPA, wires, virtual cards), payment term strategies, and supply chain finance / dynamic discounting programs.
Provide cash disbursement forecasts and payment run visibility to Cash Management.
5) Technology, Data Automation
Own the AP application landscape: ERP/AP modules (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JDE), workflow tools, supplier portals, OCR/IDP, and RPA/AI usecases.
Drive touchless processing targets: straightthrough rate, einvoice adoption, and automatch rates.
Establish data quality metrics (master data integrity, duplicate detection) and govern global dashboards and analytics.
Lead system upgrades, integrations (ProcuretoPay, S2P), and controlsbydesign in configurations.
6) Vendor Stakeholder Management
Build a supplier experience program: clear communication on invoice requirements, selfservice statuses, and prompt query resolution.
Partner closely with Procurement (PO discipline, catalog usage, supplier enablement), Receiving/Operations (GR timeliness), Tax, Legal, IT, and FPA.
Manage escalations with strategic suppliers; negotiate payment plans or settlements when needed.
7) Service Delivery Organization
Design and manage the global delivery model (shared services, regional hubs, BPO partnerships).
Define SLAs/OLAs, queue management, and capacity planning; run daily control rooms for throughput.
Build talent: role clarity, training on policies/ERPs, quality assurance, and a culture of continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen).
8) Continuous Improvement Change Management
Run a pipeline of process improvements (rootcause analysis of exceptions, PO compliance, STP uplift).
Deliver structured change management for policy changes, new tools, and supplier enablement.
Benchmark performance and costs; pursue costtoserve reduction and firsttimeright outcomes.

Invoice cycle time (receipttoapproval; approvaltopayment)
Ontime payment rate (% paid per agreed terms)
Straightthrough processing (STP) rate and automatch %
Exception rate (invoices needing manual intervention) and reopen rate
Duplicate prevention rate and vendor master defect rate
DPO and earlypayment discount capture % / value
Cost per invoice and AP operating cost vs. baseline
Supplier query resolution time CSAT (supplier satisfaction)
Compliance metrics (SOX control pass rate, audit findings closed on time)
Skills Experience
Deep ERP/AP expertise (Oracle is a MUST), workflow tools, supplier portals, OCR/IDP, RPA/AI.
Strong grasp of global tax and regulatory requirements, SOX/ICOFR.
Proven shared services/BPO leadership and change management capability.
Analytical mindset (process mining, dashboards), excellent stakeholder and supplier management.
