An associate’s degree from an accredited institution with four (4) years full-time experience as a licensed peace officer conducting felony level criminal investigations with a law enforcement agency -OR- A four-year degree from an accredited institution, plus one (1) or more years of full-time experience as a licensed peace officer conducting felony level criminal investigations with a law enforcement agency -OR- A four-year degree from an accredited institution, plus four (4) or more years as a licensed police officer, plus one (1) or more specialized skillset listed below: Specialized Skillset: • Fluency in a foreign language • Degree or certification in accounting or other closely related field • Degree or certification in a technology related specialty or computer science • Demonstrated advanced computer skill • Juris Doctorate Degree AND 2. Applicants must be currently licensed as a Peace Officer in the State of Minnesota or be eligible to be licensed as a Peace Officer 3. Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation, physical and psychological examination prior to hire 4. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds **Preferred Qualifications** 1. Four Year degree with a major in accounting, finance, business, or similar 2. Experience as an investigator assigned primarily to financial crimes 3. Training and experience as a public speaker 4. Training and experience as a background investigator 5. Advanced degree 6. Ability to establish effective, collaborative working relationships and creditability among diverse and varied populations 7. Experience working on a specialized taskforce. 8. Six months of experience investigating gambling, alcohol crimes and/or experience conducting tribal compliance checks **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting 50 pound items and frequently moving and transporting objects such as heavy tools and heavy file boxes.
