Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Structures Mechanic 1/2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our E-2D Manufacturing and Production Organization. This role will be located in Saint Augustine, Florida.

The selected candidate will perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.

Essential Functions:

Read and understand blueprints and translate into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated toolsAligning parts on jigs using templates and fixturesPerforming part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling and reamingMeasures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensionsMay modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control proceduresRequired ability to be certified for a half & full face respiratorAdhere to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines and regulationsWork and communicate over ambient noiseWork in a variety of work spaces/positions. Work spaces may include but are not limited to small, enclosed spaces, awkward, and elevated spaces. Positions may include bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, ascending/descending ladders, and/or working overhead.Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends

Potential Shifts:

6 am - 4:30 pm (M-Th 4x10s)4:30 pm - 3 am (M-Th 4x10s)2 am - 12:30 pm (M-Th 4x10s)6 am - 6:30 pm (Fr-Sun 3x12s)

This role will be filled at either a Structures Mechanic 1 or 2 based on the relevant experience required for each role.

Basic Qualifications for Level 1:

High School diploma or GED and 1 years' experience with sheet metal structures, hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, manufacturing electrical and/or systems OR High School diploma​ or GED and completion of Aircraft Fabrication (AFAB) program or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overheadMust be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environmentAbility to pass medical/respiratory evaluation in order to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirementsAbility to obtain and maintain Secret DoD Clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps and stabilizers.E-2D Hawkeye experienceExperience working on an aerospace manufacturing new production lineMilitary manufacturing and/or maintenance experienceActive Secret DoD Clearance last investigated within the last 5 1/2 yearsKnowledge of common tools, ability to record and understand precise measurements.Completion of an A&P certificate program or AFAB Program

Primary Level Salary Range: $36,300.00 - $60,500.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $43,100.00 - $71,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
