Aircraft Maintenance Technician - G280
General Summary: To perform duties associated with operational support and as required concerning maintenance of all Company aircraft, maintenance equipment, and hangar facility as assigned by the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance and/or Aviation Department Management.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for performing general aircraft maintenance on all aircraft operated by Family Dollar, Inc. to maintain airworthiness and operational condition per FAA and industry standards. Prepare required documentation for accomplished aircraft maintenance and ensure documentation is complete and readily available for examination at all times. The documentation to be maintained will include but is not limited to the aircraft log books, airworthiness directives, maintenance work orders, invoices, Company CD back-ups, Etc. Also, responsible to provide timely updates (information/documentation) to our maintenance tracking provider while monitoring/maintaining update status of Family Dollar’s maintenance records within their software database.Arrive 1 1/2 hours prior to earliest daily departure to assist crew in staging aircraft for departure. This includes restocking aircraft with coffee, ice, newspapers, snacks, and ensures that the interior and exterior of the aircraft is clean. Perform any operational maintenance required during pre-departure support (example: Landing Light Bulb) time permitting.Meet with Manager of Aircraft Maintenance at least once a week, or more if required to discuss and coordinate the maintenance of aircraft. (May be accomplished via tele-communications)Assist/perform weekly thorough preflight of all aircraft to include checking tire pressures, emergency air pressures, fluid levels, aircraft lighting, MEL discrepancies, and any other maintenance as determined by Manager of Aircraft Maintenance. Weekly preflight will be documented on the aircraft flight crew clipboard with the noted discrepancies (including corrective actions taken) or that no discrepancies were found so crewmembers will have evidence of the preflight being performed. All aircraft fuel sumps will be drained during this weekly preflight as specified in the aircraft flight manual.Perform support duties as required which include, but are not limited to, cleaning company aircraft including polishing of all bright works (interior & exterior), servicing aircraft lavatories, cleaning and organization of company hanger (including the office and restroom).Consistently provide effective communications to the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance concerning the status of a repair and the expected time for return to service (RTS) of aircraft.Assist DOM in part procurement and inventory.Must participate and successfully complete Company in-house and external training as determined necessary by Family Dollar Aviation Management and/or Human Resources.Must be flexible with work schedule. Be available for weekend departures and “Pop-Up” maintenance issues.Must possess a valid A&P license issued by the Federal Aviation Administration.Must be able to secure/maintain Airport Security clearance requirements for the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. Must be able to obtain/possess a United States Passport.Other duties as assigned.
