Join our innovative team as a Machine Learning Developer, where you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address biomanufacturing challenges. This role involves developing and implementing cutting-edge machine learning tools to optimize research efforts and enhance laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop machine learning solutions for biomanufacturing challenges.Develop and apply state-of-the-art machine learning tools and algorithms to optimize research efforts.Perform internal verification and validation of models and code to ensure deployments for real laboratory use.Develop and implement dashboards or other graphical user interfaces for automation in laboratory experimentation.Analyze biological data using languages such as Python and R to derive mathematical insights and improve system performance.Employ DevSecOps and MLOps to integrate machine learning processes into secure data pipelines.Collaborate with academic and industry partners to test and refine algorithms and biological systems in diverse environments.Conduct research to keep models and analysis up to date with the latest advancements.

Essential Skills

5+ years of experience in Machine Learning Development (3 years with a Master's Degree).Proficiency in software development, Java, Agile, JavaScript, algorithm development, and AI development.Experience with tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Angular, Jira, Confluence, and CSS.Expertise in bioinformatics, Scrum, and MLOps.B.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.US Citizenship is required.Eligibility for Secret Level clearance (can start without clearance).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong skills in algorithm development and Agile methodologies.Experience with biological data analysis using Python and R.

Work Environment

This position is part of a stable program and team, offering a positive culture and working environment. The role supports the Bioinformatics branch of a bio/chem defense program located in Edgewood, MD, working on-site in the Army customer lab. The schedule is a flexible hybrid remote arrangement, with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote, offering good benefits upon conversion to salary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
