Agricultural Equipment Operator
### Job Duties Start Date: 04/01/2026 End Date: 12/15/2026 Hours: 48 hours/week, Mon.-Sat. 8 hours/day, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Must Apply By: 08/09/2026 The employer raises row crops that are planted during April and May and harvested during October and November. Due to winter conditions and frozen ground, machinery operations are not performed from December through March. Seasonal employees are needed to assist with preparing fields for planting and harvest activities. Job duties include attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, irrigation systems, and other agricultural equipment; and participating in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities. Employees will apply fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungi, weeds, and crop diseases using hand sprayers or appropriate equipment. Additional duties include loading and unloading crops or materials manually or with conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers; observing and listening to equipment operation to detect malfunctions; operating harvesting equipment; performing routine inspection, adjustment, maintenance, and minor repairs on machinery and irrigation equipment; and driving farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools. No commercial trucking is required. Worker must be available and willing to work the entire season. Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ anyone with a felony/theft criminal background as required by the workplace safety policy and company hiring practices as allowed by law. Employer will conduct post-hire drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. ### Minimum Education Required No High School Diploma or GED required. ### Minimum Experience Required Two (2) months of farm experience is required. Worker must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license upon hire. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at the previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
