About the role of Agile Product Owner IV 

As the Agile Product Owner IV within the Core Systems Configuration (CSC) department, you will champion the evolution of processes through AI and automation, building organizational capability and coaching others to develop proficiency in these technologies. You’ll mentor fellow product owners and analysts, foster a collaborative team culture, and cultivate strong partnerships across the organization to advance the product vision. 

In this role, you will be the business facing leader for the configuration team, responsible for shaping the team’s work and clearly articulating the value it delivers. You will drive alignment between stakeholder priorities and strategic objectives, ensuring that the team’s efforts maximize business impact. 

As the voice of the customer, you will translate business requirements into well-defined epics, features, and user stories. You will own and refine the product backlog, using strategic analysis to navigate complex problems and guide prioritization that produces meaningful outcomes. 

This is a hybrid role at our campus in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. 

What you’ll do: 

Champion Customer & Business Needs: Serve as the Voice of the Customer by understanding and representing business and product strategies; build strong relationships with business partners and the user community to ensure their needs are clearly communicated to the Agile team. 

Act as Product & Domain Expert: Demonstrate deep and broad domain expertise (e.g., claims, benefits) to guide product decisions, influence product strategy, and assess product opportunities, risks, and dependencies. 

Lead Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison with business stakeholders by planning, conducting, and leading analysis efforts for new product implementations, and translating business needs into actionable Agile team direction. 

Shape Product Strategy & Roadmap: Collaborate with the Chief Product Owner and other Product Owners to influence and develop product roadmaps, features, and user stories grounded in measurable business outcomes. 

Define, Write & Refine Requirements: Identify, define, write, and refine epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria; collaborate with partners and Agile teams to ensure requirements reflect value, scope, and product strategy. 

Own and Prioritize the Backlog: Build, own, maintain, optimize, prioritize, and sequence the product backlog (including PBIs, enablers, and tech debt) in alignment with the roadmap, KPIs, dependencies, and team capacity. 

Lead Backlog & Dependency Management: Facilitate backlog refinement sessions, coordinate dependencies with other Product Owners, and ensure alignment across teams for PI Planning and ongoing Agile cadence. 

Collaborate Through Delivery Lifecycle: Work closely with Agile teams throughout solution design, development, release readiness, and demo cycles; manage feedback loops and ensure accountability for outcomes. 

Drive User Acceptance & Quality: Lead or guide user acceptance testing, approve user stories and related PBIs, and drive continuous improvement of product quality, standards, and efficiency. 

Communicate Clearly & Transparently: Communicate release content, value, decisions, risks, and tradeoffs to business partners and IT leadership; collaborate to prioritize and resolve issues based on impact and dependencies. 

Use Data & KPIs to Optimize Product: Leverage data, KPIs, and performance metrics to guide decisions, evaluate product health, and accelerate customer value. 

Support Continuous Improvement & Team Growth: Identify opportunities to improve processes and accelerate value delivery; mentor junior staff and other Product Owners; perform other duties as assigned. 

 

What you’ll bring: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent. (Required) 

Eight (8) years of business systems analysis experience. (Required) 

Experience using AI to stand up new capabilities.  (Preferred) 

Extensive knowledge of healthcare or health insurance industry, particularly claims processing knowledge and medical terminology. (Preferred) 

Experience using SQL for data analysis. (Preferred) 

Experience in a software development environment with Agile development practices, including Scrum and SAFe. Knowledge of Agile delivery models.  (Preferred) 

Knowledge of product development tools including Azure DevOps Services, Visual Studio, Confluence, and Product Plan. (Preferred)

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

National Plus Salary Range:

$123,200.00 - $209,400.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
