Job Overview

Agency Lending is part of the overall Securities Services Business unit. The ASL Business facilitates the temporary transfer of securities from a lender to a borrower against collateral (securities or cash), enabling beneficial owners to generate incremental income on their portfolio securities. The services provided include: trade execution, trade settlement, collateral management, cash re-investment, recall/return processing, asset servicing and lender/borrower billing. Typical ASL clients include Mutual Funds, Insurance Companies, Pension Funds, Public Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Central Banks. Develops a good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided.

Responsibilities:

Individual mapped to this job description is responsible for securities transaction processing executionTypically related to Securities Clearance Settlement and Derivative OperationsThis may include providing analytic support to tradersSupports an expansive and or diverse array of products servicesFollows established procedures to identify problems related to securities settlement that require investigation or researchAssists in resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedentsDelivers reports to satisfy management requirements, support control activities, and the launch of products servicesProvides assistance in the implementation of process improvementsMinimizes risk to the bank through increased knowledge of procedural requirements - understands and monitors errors to adhere to audit and control policies. (incl. reconciliation, payment and other processing systems)Timely management and escalation of all requests inquiries issues errors, (mostly, but not limited to, post settlement)Demonstrates an intermediate level of understanding of products and processes, and of how duties relate integrate with others in the team and closely related teamsDemonstrates an excellent knowledge of bank related systemsUtilizes strong communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex sensitive information, while being sensitive to audience diversityAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

0-2 years of experience working in Security Operations or Middle OfficeAbility to work in a structured, high volume, time sensitive, high risk and demanding environmentGood analytical skills and positive attitudeConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skillsThe candidate should be well versed in the Microsoft Office Suite. Particular emphasis is on Excel and using spreadsheets for balancing and reporting.Relevant experience in trade processing a plus

$49,010.00 - $68,390.00
