Aerospace Repair Technician
Job Title: Repair TechnicianJob Description

This role involves repairing electrical power supplies and magnetic components used in the aerospace industry, specifically focusing on aircraft Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), Generator Control Units (GCUs), and related systems. The position requires working with various types of generators for applications such as permanent magnet generators for engine OEM companies and wound field generators for main or accessory power in both DC and AC on aircraft and UAVs.

ResponsibilitiesOverhaul or repair components following the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Service Bulletins, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), and relevant blueprints using hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, calipers, pliers, and micrometers.Perform test functions according to Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and determine the cause of failure.Conduct teardowns, overhauls, and functional testing of various APU and GCU units and their components.Ensure all repair work is performed according to procedures and using the correct document revision.Utilize autonomy and problem-solving skills to diagnose equipment issues, decide on repair versus replacement, and consult with partners and inspectors.Essential Skills1+ years of relevant experience in repairing mechanical and/or electrical components.Ability to read basic blueprints and shop drawings.Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, calipers, pliers, and micrometers.Capability to pass FAA screening for placement in the DOT drug pool.Physical ability to lift and handle delicate equipment up to 40 pounds for positioning, testing, and troubleshooting.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of a high school diploma or GED required.Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and electrical skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a repair station area within an OEM that manufactures power generation and conversion equipment for commercial use. The standard shift is from 0600 to 1630, with some flexibility to adjust to preferred hours, such as 0500-1530 or 0700-1730, after training.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
