The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a motivated Aerospace Engineering Intern to support the design, integration, testing, and evaluation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and related mission platforms. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced prototyping and fabrication environment where engineering concepts move quickly from design to build to flight. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers supporting real-world operational requirements and gain exposure to airframe development, performance analysis, and flight test activities.


Responsibilities:

Assist in airframe design, modification, and integration activitiesSupport development of 3D models, drawings, and configuration updatesParticipate in structural assessments and basic performance analysisAssist with system integration of propulsion, control, and payload componentsSupport ground testing, fit checks, and pre-flightpreparationCollect and organize test data during ground and flight eventsAssist in development of technical documentation and test reportsSupport troubleshooting and root cause analysis of airframe or performance issuesCollaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems teams during integration efforts

Qualifications:

Required: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related fieldFoundational understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structuresExperience with 3D CAD softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a hands-on lab and flight test environmentStrong communication skills and willingness to learnAbility to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance

Desired:

Experience with UAV/UAS platforms or RC aircraftFamiliarity with structural analysis or simulation toolsExposure to propulsion systems or flight control conceptsPrior internship, lab research, or project team experience

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,900-$79,900
