The Opportunity:

Join our innovative project as an Aerospace Communication AI Analyst Intern, focused on revolutionizing aerospace communication through AI-driven data transformation. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge advancements in radio communication technologies, enhancing data reliability and efficiency. Gain hands-on experience in machine learning, signal processing, and computer vision within the aerospace domain, while collaborating with a team of skilled engineers, data scientists, and domain experts. This role offers a hybrid schedule with the expectation that you will be in-person at least 3-4 days a week at our Sterling, VA location.

Responsibilities:

Develop and refine machine learning models to automatically detect and classify artifacts in radio communications used in aerospace applicationsDesign and implement algorithms and feature engineering techniques to identify statistical signatures in bit streamsEstablish a robust testing framework with performance metrics to validate the accuracy of detectionDevelop a Python library containing models and thorough documentation for identificationImplement computer vision approaches for trajectory visualization and pattern recognition in aerospace communicationsDevelop machine learning models to predict missing parameters and identify flight behaviors based on communication dataCreate an interactive analysis toolkit with specialized applications for aircraft tracking and performance analysisProvide clear and detailed documentation for all developed models, algorithms, and toolsConduct rigorous testing and validation of all implemented solutions to ensure reliability and accuracyWork closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and domain experts, to integrate solutions into existing systemsPrepare and present regular progress reports and findings to stakeholdersStay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and aerospace communication to continuously improve project outcomes



Qualifications:

Required: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related fieldMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureBasic proficiency in Python and a willingness to learn and improveFamiliarity with MATLAB or similar software and a willingness to learnInterest in computer vision and visualization techniquesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailGood analytical and critical thinking abilitiesEffective communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team



Desired:

Prior experience or coursework in machine learning, signal processing, or aerospace communication is a plusEnthusiasm for learning and applying new technologiesMinimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but not required Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$45,900 - $91,900
