Northrop Grumman Defense Systems’ C2 & Weapons Integration Division as an immediate opening for a Senior Manager of Business Development. Location in one of the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sites including Baltimore, MD or McLean, VA is preferred but other locations will be considered. Considerable travel is required.
This position is a critical role within the Strategy and Market Development team, driving the Division’s long-term growth. The selected candidate will be supporting the Advanced Technology Programs organization responsible for the development, assessment, and cultivation of new and existing opportunities for Contracted Research and Development aligned to technologies and products for Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Counter UAS, Command and Control, Battle Management, Sustainment, and Mission Planning Systems. The individual will work closely with a broader support team of subject matter experts and program managers from the Technology and Engineering organizations, the business development professionals supporting the division’s programs, and Northrop Grumman sector and corporate business development resources to identify opportunities, devise win strategies, and influence program offices and customers.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Manage business development activities with Science and Technology and Research and Development organizations including DARPA, ARMY DEVCOM, MDA Advanced Concepts, AFRL, ONR and similar organizations to generate leads, create / shape and prioritize new business opportunities for Contracted Research and Development programs to achieve the growth goals of the Advanced Technology Programs organization Assist in creating, maintaining, and implementing a customer engagement strategy with the R&D organizations for each Internal Research and Development Program within the Advanced Technology Programs OrganizationPrioritize and develop (with team support) marketing content for new technologies and productsManage responses to relevant Requests for InformationCoordinate attendance at Science and Technology Conferences and Trade ShowsInterface with the business units and division teams and assure alignment of prioritiesDevelop capture strategies and tactics, including competitive assessments and teaming strategies for next generation technologies and productsBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) business, programs, or operational experienceExperience working with or in Science and Technology and/or Research and Development organizationsBusiness development, capture, or technical experienceKnowledge of DoD acquisition, requirements, and budget policies and processesActive DoD Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
Batchelor’s Degree in a STEM related fieldIntegrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and/or Command and Control (C2) domain, program, or operational experience10 years of experience related to Department of Defense (DoD) programsKnowledgeable in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) tools (e.g. Salesforce)Proven success with leading project teams or peopleExperience working in a matrix organization or environmentActive Top Secret clearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $170,000.00 - $255,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
