Advanced Shipfitter (Multi-Pass Tack And Burn)
Shipfitter – $45/hr + $140 Per Diem We are seeking experienced Shipfitters for a long-term opportunity in Virginia. This position offers $45/hour plus $140/day per diem for travelers. Candidates must have a strong experience in shipfitting, welding, and structural fitting in a shipyard or heavy industrial environment. **Responsibilities:** + Perform shipfitting and structural fitting tasks on various ship components including bulkheads, decks, and frames. + Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. + Use torches, grinders, and other tools to cut, fit, and tack weld metal parts. + Work closely with welders and other trades to ensure proper alignment and fit-up. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety protocols. **Requirements:** + Minimum 3 years of shipfitting experience in a shipyard or similar setting. + Proficient in tack welding, layout, and fitting of steel structures. + Ability to read and interpret ship drawings and blueprints. + Must have own tools and PPE. + Prior experience working in a military or commercial shipyard. + Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and procedures. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
