Sentara Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient team in South Boston, VA. Position Details:

Location: South Boston, VAPatient Volume: Approximately 35–40 patients per weekSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | No on-call requirements

Patient Population:

Substance and alcohol use disorders, Depression and anxiety, Grief and loss, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, PMDD, Schizophrenia, etc.

Team Composition:

2 Physicians1 Licensed Professional Counselor2 Support Staff

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct outpatient behavioral health visits and follow-upsPrescribe and manage medications as appropriateProvide counseling and therapy when indicatedCollaborate closely with physicians on patient careMonitor and track patient progress, ensuring individualized, effective treatment plans

Ideal Candidate:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral healthProven ability to provide both medication management and counselingExperience in evaluating and determining the most effective treatment approach for patients, whether through medication, therapy, or a combination of bothStrong communication and collaboration skillsCommitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
