Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Data Analytics Lead
Job Description SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) to join our Electric Ave X-Ray Tubes facility. This role combines a strong foundation in traditional manufacturing processes with a passion for leveraging data analytics to drive operational excellence. As a key member of the AME team, you will manage manufacturing data end-to-end—connecting data sources, synthesizing information, and developing visualizations that enable cross-functional teams to monitor and improve product quality. You will collaborate closely with software developers to structure data and serve as the site lead for the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), providing training, implementing new features, and supporting route changes. As part of our digital transformation efforts, you will guide the team in adopting and optimizing new Power BI reporting tools. Ideal candidates will have a background in manufacturing and data analysis, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

Identify new opportunities to leverage data science solutions, prioritizing those with the greatest potential business impact.

Lead the definition, development, and maintenance of robust database solutions to support manufacturing operations.

Develop and implement data-driven solutions using Power BI dashboards and custom scripts to monitor and enhance production performance.

Manage and prioritize tasks across the local data team to ensure timely and effective delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting and data accessibility.

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions using statistical tools and data modeling.

Document and approve changes in accordance with required Change Control processes within the manufacturing operation.

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering growth and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years’ experience or graduation from a GE leadership program. Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting.

Desired Characteristics

Experience with MES, ERP, or other manufacturing systems.

Proficiency in Power BI or similar software like Tableau, Spotfire, etc, for data visualization and reporting.

Experience with coding/scripting (e.g., Python, LabView, R, JMP, Minitab, SQL, VBA, or similar).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience in writing and overseeing unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Willing to fail to learn about potential pitfalls, and to determine possible roadblocks.
