Roles and Responsibilities
In the role of Advanced Lead Propulsion Modeling & Simulation Engineer, you will develop and maintain cycle performance models.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include:
Developing physics-based aerothermal system models that behave reasonably throughout the operational envelopeResolving model issues through understanding both the physical system, the modeling that represents it, as well as the numerical iteration methods used to solve the system.Packaging models for delivery to customers and integration into rigs or simulatorsCreating, developing, and integrating aerothermal models of individual components, physical processes, and subsystem models, that constitute an overall system model.Leading design reviews of modeling approach, functionality, and validityExecuting and assisting others with the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirementsAssuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures Interfacing with tool organizations and commercial teams to improve and standardize processes such as data reduction and class code developmentManaging and communicating project status, business issues and significant developmentsParticipating as a presenter and reviewer in technical and program reviewsActively supporting the Performance Technical Community and Design BoardLeading strategic initiatives and aligning efforts to FLIGHT DECKRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical, aerospace or electrical engineeringAt least 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering positionDue to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenshipLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
