Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would be centered around life methodsClosely coordinate with the applied lifing, advanced design tools, materials behavior, and engineering teams, for both fielded and new production introduction applicationsDevelop and apply in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, specifically fracture mechanics and fatigue lifing, and continuous improvement of tools and processes associated with this disciplineActs as a resource for colleagues with less experience.May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 3 years Design Engineering experience or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Design Engineering experienceDesired Characteristics
Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or universityStrong background in fracture mechanics and LCFSome experience in material testing including familiarity with material validation testing and fatigue performanceStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.Experience working with engineering tools/programsAbility to work independently with a demonstrated ability to drive solutions while collaborating effectively within a technical communityThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
