The Advance Feasibility & Full Cycle Simulation Manager will provide leadership and management of the stamping draw development process, forming simulation assessments, and evaluation of product proposals in support of new model vehicle programs. This position will coordinate and communicate stamping product feasibility results, manage formability feedback improvements, spring back results, and critical program activities as part of the forming and simulation group. Provide administration of salaried bargaining unit engineers, while coordinating with various cross functional organizations (plants, platform engineering, BIW, and finance) in various activities as required.
Responsibilities and Duties For “MAKE” and “BUY” (purchased) stampings:
SPE Lead between Program Management and Product Engineering Supervise SBU material utilization and forming engineers Knowledge and understanding of complex geometry, stamping sections, and successfully manage front loaded product solutions within the PDO studio design centers Critical Aesthetic Review – Identifies critical characteristics of surface demerit scoring due to product geometry Critical Gravity Simulation – Identifies critical characteristics of how gravity affects panel dimensional capability on checking fixture Dyna/Autoform Feasibility, Dimensional, and Aesthetic Validation NX Draw Nominal & Morph Development - NC Lead for Global Forming & Full Cycle Standards Die design, automation, and product engineering process understanding Material utilization group and database management PDO studio resolution management of Identified issue Support development of die processes Communicate team progress to various cross functional organizations Support FCA stamping plants throughout product life-cycle Domestic and international travel, required as neededBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering Minimum 8 years of experience in stamping tool and die development gained through related positions in advanced manufacturing engineering, product engineering (BIW), or stamping production operations Development/Simulation and CATIA/NX knowledge Minimum of 8 years of experience in stamping tool and die development gained through related positions in advanced manufacturing engineering, product engineering (BIW), or stamping production operations Development/Simulation and CATIA/NX knowledge Technical nature of the position requires a strong hands-on experience, with background knowledge using several types of forming software tools, BIW core product knowledge, and a clear understanding of processes required to complete Stellantis core business function of Full Process & Full Cycle Simulations. Problem Solving of complex problems, utilizing virtual and hard tool knowledge. Core knowledge and understanding of software tools: AutoForm, LS Dyna, BM Stamp, NX/Team Center, OmniCad, metallurgically understanding of material properties, and effects of metal stamping correlation. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Proven team building experience Strong Microsoft/Google skills Model behavior necessary Domestic and international travel, required as needed The position has direct SBU Die Simulation, Forming, & Material Utilization Engineers. All-in understanding of how each of the tools, product knowledge, and the die process capabilities are required and utilized to meet Stellantis Product objectives. Must understand metallurgical aluminum and steel material card/properties Technical nature of the position requires a strong hands-on experience, with background knowledge using several types of forming software tools, BIW core product knowledge, and a clear understanding of processes required to complete FCA core business function of Full Process & Full Cycle Simulations.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in engineering The ideal candidate would have a minimum 8 years managing UAW engineers Background in finite element analysis Journeyman Status 15 years working at an automotive OEM Experience managing DTM KPI’s Proven experience with progressive dies and line dies
