This position serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing material at a transfer station or material recovery facility. The role involves interfacing directly with customers, calculating payments, checking loads, and ensuring the safety of both customers and employees by observing safety rules and regulations.
ResponsibilitiesGreet customers, direct customer and traffic flow, and answer questions accurately.Correctly calculate payments for customers.Enter all extra charges and load grading into the computer as called in by site personnel.Ensure that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business safely and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Provide general upkeep of the Scale House.Complete all administrative tasks including regular filing and completing required reports.Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring attention.Perform required data entry and minor customer service responsibilities.Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time.Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace.Approach all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.Project a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, positive attitude that encourages customer confidence and reflects a professional image.Participate in all required company meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsData entryClient supportAdministrative supportAbility to work independentlyCustomer serviceAdministrative assistanceCustomer supportClerical skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsMust have reliable transportationMust be a self-starterStrong communication skills (oral and written)Good interpersonal skillsAbility to organize and multi-taskAble to work effectively with limited supervisionHigh school diploma or GEDOne to four years of related experience preferredWork EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 5am to 4pm with a 30-minute lunch. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
