Administrative Director Apply Now **Job Summary** The Administrative Director serves as the senior operational leader for the Troy Campus, reporting to the Associate Chief Operating Officer/Nursing Officer, Oakland County with indirect reporting to the Chief Nurse and Operations Executive for University of Michigan Health UMH. In close partnership with the Senior Nursing Director and designated physician leader, this role provides comprehensive leadership for campus wide strategy, operations, finance, quality access, and care delivery. This position, as the principal integrator across clinical, operational and administrative domains, translating Michigan Medicine, MM and University of Michigan Medical Group (UMMG), strategy into executable campus level priorities. The Administrative Director is accountable for end to end performance of all programs and services on the Troy Campus, including clinical operations, space and facility management, financial stewardship, workforce performance, patient experience, regulatory readiness and growth initiatives. Serving as a key operational partner to the senior executive, the director supports and executes campus strategy by managing day-to-day operations, leading priority initiatives, and addressing complex operational issues as delegated. This role ensures alignment between enterprise objectives and campus execution, reinforces patient-centered care practices, supports provider and staff engagement, and monitors performance to achieve targeted financial, quality, and operational outcomes within a multi-specialty ambulatory setting. **Responsibilities*** + Direct reporting relationship to the Associate Chief Operating Officer, Oakland County; indirect reporting to the Chief Nurse and Operations Executive, UMH. + Serves as the primary administrative partner to physician and nursing executive leadership for Troy Campus performance and strategy execution. + Partners with Central Services, Shared Services, and Clinical Department leaders to proactively identify, resolve, and communicate issues related to safety, quality, access, experience, and operations. + Provides direct leadership to site management teams and oversees all clinics within Troy Campus facilities. + Works closely with the site nursing leader to oversee ambulatory surgery, infusion, and other clinical services. + Collaborates with Shared Services and department leadership to indirectly lead additional programs supporting campus care delivery. + Partners with enterprise functions (e.g., Accreditation, Patient Experience, Infection Prevention, Compliance) to ensure regulatory readiness and achievement of key performance indicators. + Aligns departmental and program goals with Michigan Medicine strategy and operationalizes enterprise priorities locally. + Partners with the senior executive to operationalize enterprise strategy for the Troy Campus by coordinating cross-functional efforts, implementing integrated action plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring execution aligns with strategic and operational objectives. + Represents Troy Campus on enterprise committees and governance bodies. + Advises executive leadership on campus performance, risks, and opportunities. + Supports Troy Executive Oversight Committee in setting quality, access, and patient care priorities. **Care Delivery & Clinical Integration** + Leads development of patient-centered programs and services across all Troy clinics + Design strategies to strengthen transition of care across inpatient, outpatient, and home-based settings. + Partners with clinical leaders to optimize care models, scope of practice, and interdisciplinary workflows. **Operational Leadership & Performance Excellence** + Establish priorities, areas of focus, and collaborate with centralized support services. + Establish measurable targets for operational excellence and continuous improvement. + Drives standardization of access, scheduling, and template utilization. + Oversees regulatory compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, CLIA, and other applicable agencies evaluations. + Leads response to operational disruptions and serves in Administrator On-Call rotation as assigned. **Space Management** + Prioritize and seek funding for ambulatory facility improvements, including construction or renovation of structures and purchase of major equipment. + **Operational and Clinical Management** + Support physicians and nursing partners with approval of care model requirements for each specialty, including roles, responsibilities, and exceptions. + Oversee identification of potential revisions to the staffing model based on analysis of visit and productivity data. **Financial Stewardship & Resource Management** + Holds accountability for campus financial performance, including revenue, expense, and productivity metrics. + Leads interdisciplinary financial planning and execution for current and future fiscal years. + Identifies and implements strategies to achieve budget targets and long-term sustainability. + Communicates financial and operational performance transparently to providers, staff, and leadership. + Identifies and disseminates best practices to drive margin improvement and operational efficiency. **Space, Facilities & Capital Planning** + Serves as executive owner of campus space strategy and utilization. + Prioritizes and seeks funding for ambulatory facility improvements, renovations, and major equipment investments. + Partners to implement large-scale facility, IT, and program development initiatives. **Workforce Leadership & Talent Management** + Recruits, develops, and evaluates site managers and leadership team members. + Supports recruitment of physicians and nursing leaders. + Oversees staffing models informed by visit volume, productivity, and care delivery needs. + Drives employee engagement, accountability, and performance culture. **Change Leadership & Complex Initiative Management** + Directs multiple concurrent, high impact workstreams including clinical redesign, technology implementation, and operational transformation. + Leads campus change management efforts, ensuring alignment, communication, and adoption. + Serves as executive problem-solver for complex, cross-functional issues. **Enterprise Partnership & Influence** + In collaboration with and support of the Troy campus senior leader, represents an administrative voice for Troy Campus across Michigan Medicine and Ambulatory Care Services. + Creates alignment between enterprise, ambulatory, and departmental strategies. + Provides expert consultation on operational effectiveness, access, fiscal management, employee engagement, and patient satisfaction. **Required Qualifications*** + Master's degree in health services administration, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Minimum five years of progressively responsible healthcare leadership. + Demonstrated success managing complex ambulatory care operations multispecialty physician practice. + Proven track record leading large-scale initiatives in matrixed organization. + Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by the ability to work effectively with administrative partners, individuals, and/or teams, across disciplines. + Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, operational execution and change leadership. + Credible, confident, and decisive leader able to influence across disciplines. + Strong analytical capability with comfort leveraging data to drive decisions. + Deep understanding of healthcare operations, financial
