ADC Manager, Optics Systems Engineering
AWS Security is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of Systems Engineers who manage the operation of our physical access control system (PACS)! The manager is expected to have an understanding of operating large-scale global Windows deployments, with a general understanding of Native AWS fundamentals. The team works at a high pace and this manager will need to be capable of managing multiple projects across multiple customers and allocating the right resources to the customer needs. This manager leads a team of high performing systems engineers participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation with predominately day-shift engineering.

AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.

Key job responsibilities
• Implementing and/or improving internal processes, dashboards, and operations to achieve or exceed Internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Providing exceptional leadership and management for a staff of local and remote AWS employees,
• Demonstrating ability to complete root cause identification and correction of errors without pointing fingers,
• Developing professionals with a breadth and depth of experience, skillset, and career aspirations,
• Being a great people manager. Having the ability to hire, develop, motivate and mentor a group of world-class engineers is the most important part of this role.
• Retaining top talent, excelling in day-to-day people and performance management, and have the ability to recruit new engineers.
• Distilling work into granular units are able to translate requirements into an actionable roadmap.
• Delivering the right things at the right time with competing priorities at times.
