About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Member Risk, in this role, you will be a part of the Member Risk team, supporting the implementation of Safe Guide processes for members across the country. This position will supplement the team of volunteer Safe Guide Assessors, by supporting the Safe Guide assessment process in Councils with smaller assessment teams and during peak assessment times when volume is high. Additionally, the Activity Assessor will support the Member Risk team by completing administrative tasks, such as processing incident reports.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Position Specific
Support Guiders in their planning of activities by reviewing Safe Guide forms to ensure plans meet Safe Guide requirements.Review and understand emergency response planning for activities and provide an educated assessment of the activity, location, weather conditions and age of participants.Communicate with internal/external stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarification and confirm processes, as required.Support the Safe Guide assessment process by managing the Safe Guide Assessors vacation calendar, reassigning files that are marked as “conflict of interest” and taking on other SurveyMonkey Apply administrative tasks.Review and process incident reports and refer reports for follow-up as necessary.Manage inboxes that are overseen by the Member Risk teamApply organizational policies regarding inclusivity to content, member communication and customer service.General
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.Liaise with other departments as required.Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.Other duties as assigned.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
Education, Designations and Certifications
Relevant post-secondary degree/diploma in outdoor education or a related field of study or equivalent experience relating to planning and risk assessment in the areas of camping, outdoor activities, water activities and tripping.Prior Work Experience
Experience in implementing risk management and safety protocols in youth-serving organizations.Specific experience relating to risk management in the areas of camping, outdoor activities, water activities and tripping, and virtual activities.Experience in leading/organizing multi-day trips.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Ability to apply protocols and guidelines in reference documents (for example Safe Guide, or Code of Conduct) to submitted planning document and make decisions on planning compliance.Proficient with MS Office (Office 365) and ability to quicky learn and use new digital tools.Excellent time management skills and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Solution focused and able to adapt well to change.Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skillsBenefits:

Hiring Range: $45,600.00- $53,820.00
