Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Receivable SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing customer accounts, handling various types of payments, and ensuring accurate account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable, a strong proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage customer accounts, including EDI customers.Apply and reconcile all incoming payments received by wire, EFT, check, and credit card.Research and resolve deductions and account discrepancies.Process and research authorized deductions and dispute unauthorized deductions.Analyze and forecast customer aging for weekly AR meetings.Perform business-to-business collection of open accounts receivable by contacting customers and collaborating with account management and sales teams.Issue standard credit memos for contractual agreements.Manage and create Excel reports for executives in Finance, Sales, and Operations.Monitor EDI billing execution and resolve issues identified through account reconciliations.Access customer portals to retrieve, navigate, research, and dispute transactions.Respond to customer emails and inquiries.Prepare manual invoices as needed for non-EDI customers.Prepare commercial shipping documents for import shipments on open accounts.Create month-end Accounts Receivable summaries and reconciliations for assigned customers.Maintain continuous process improvement.Complete ad hoc projects as assigned.Essential Skills2+ years of AR or accounting experience.Strong Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and advanced reporting.Experience in consumer products preferred.Experience with NetSuite preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in accounting is optional.Experience with big box retail and customer portals is preferred.ERP experience with NetSuite preferred but open to other ERPs besides QuickBooks.Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment, with four days onsite and remote work on Fridays. You will be part of a team of four, including the AR Manager. The culture values individuals who take good notes, follow procedures, and can handle a large volume of paperwork and document imports. An Excel test will be part of the onsite interview process, and the role may involve working with up to 30,000 line items on an Excel sheet for one invoice.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
