Construction Accounts Receivable Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, maintaining a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and completing all billing functions.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of billing information.Forecast upcoming billable expenditures.Prepare draft Payment Applications and reports for the project team to review.Facilitate monthly billing meetings.Track upcoming material expenditures for payment.Communicate with relevant personnel and Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure vendor costs are billed and/or released.Keep records of invoices, deposits, and all correspondence regarding payment collection.Maintain Accounts Receivable and External Billing processes.Prepare and send invoices and related documents.Update accounting systems and ensure all information is entered in all GC/Customer databases.Update Contract – Job Cost entries.Support with collections and payables that require additional follow-up.Maintain working knowledge of current collection requirements.Assist in investigating payment delinquencies.Monitor Retainage allowances.Execute contracts and set up newly awarded projects in company systems.Assist in updating budget entries and cost coding.Maintain project-related records, including contracts, bonds, and subcontracts.Confirm final values and removal from accounting systems.Track contract changes and report and update Pending Changes.Process Change Orders and track billable costs.Essential SkillsExperience in accounts receivable, invoicing, collection, claim, and billing.Proficiency in Sage 300 and AIA billing.Experience in the construction industry.High volume billing capability.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite.Strong attention to detail.Good communication skills.Problem-solving abilities.Effective time management and the ability to self-manage work with little supervision.Organizational skills.Ability to multi-task effectively to meet numerous deadlines.Work Environment

The work environment involves utilizing technologies such as Sage 300 and Microsoft Office Suite. The role requires working efficiently under minimal supervision and handling multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a construction industry setting.

The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
