Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to join our mission-driven organization focused on affordable housing and community support. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a key role in managing accounts receivable operations. This full-time, on-site position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our cause.
ResponsibilitiesReconcile resident accounts and coordinate with property management.Manage collections for former tenants, including setting up payment plans and processing refunds.Ensure compliance with state notification laws.Invoice affiliated nonprofits for shared services.Handle inter-agency receivables and reporting.Prepare financial reports such as rent rolls and aged receivables.Maintain accurate records of receivable activity.Essential SkillsAssociate degree in accounting or related field, plus two years of relevant experience (or near completion of degree).Experience in accounts receivable, including collections.Proficiency in MS Excel, including Lookups and Pivot Tables.General ledger experience, including journal entries, debits, credits, and reconciliations.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in government, property management, affordable housing, or nonprofit sectors is highly preferred.Industry experience in affordable housing, government, nonprofit, or multi-family real estate is a strong preference.Familiarity with Elite Software and upcoming the person implementation is a bonus.Work Environment
You will be joining a team of five, expanding to six with your role, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor. The work environment is fully in-office with a business casual dress code. Enjoy flexible hours with a set schedule between 7AM and 6PM, adjustable for appointments as needed. Parking is available for employees.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.57 - $25.93/hr.
