Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description This role requires a dedicated Collections Specialist responsible for supporting day-to-day collections and accounts receivable functions. Responsibilities + Identify unpaid past due invoices on assigned portfolio of accounts. + Research and analyze accounts prior to initiating customer contact; examine historical data and evaluate past collection efforts. + Determine reasons for payment differences. + Determine the most effective and economical means of collection for each account and apply standard due diligence to collect monies owed. + Generate correspondence via free-form letters and e-mail correspondence. + Initiate customer contact when invoices are 9+ days past due or if an account is deemed high risk or material based on account history. + Contact customers to reimburse denied deductions using appropriate collection techniques and request supporting documentation if necessary. + Track, notate, and document all collection activity and action taken. + Maintain timely communication with internal departments to expedite payment of delinquent deductions and invoices/correct pricing errors/adjustments as needed. + Facilitate compilation of complete documentation to forward to outside collection agency when internal collection efforts are exhausted. + Create and provide monthly collection aging report/updates to management. + Audit and review monthly commission reports before forwarding to accounts payable and facilitate commission reductions for uncollectable items when deemed necessary. + Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, accounts payable, procurement, operational, and sales personnel. Essential Skills + Proficiency in accounting and journal entry. + Experience in collections and managing delinquent balances. + Strong knowledge of Excel. + Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance since 2022 or more recent OR + 6+ months of experience within a US GAAP setting. + 3+ years of experience in a B2B collections setting within an inventory-based setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Work Environment The position is based at the corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA, within the Director of AR's group. The work schedule includes three days onsite (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) and two remote days.
