This role involves managing and maintaining resident records within the PointClickCare patient accounting system, ensuring all actions comply with facility policies. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of insurance regulations and billing practices in the long-term care industry, along with efficient handling of accounts receivable and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and maintain resident records in the PointClickCare patient accounting system accurately and timely in compliance with facility policies and contract requirements.
+ Perform verifications of pre-admissions to the facility and insurance to assure funding of services provided, including skilled nursing and therapy.
+ Maintain a basic understanding of primary insurance carriers such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care regulations and related facility practices.
+ Monitor assigned accounts in a timely manner, follow up on outstanding receivables, and resolve account discrepancies.
+ Prepare deposits and enter into the PointClickCare accounting system.
+ Process monthly resident statements and prepare claims for services as required.
+ Maintain records to support accounts receivable and other regulatory reporting ensuring transactions are properly documented and approved.
+ Interact with customers both internal and external.
+ Reconcile monthly billing and ancillary provider invoices.
+ Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of accounts receivable accounting, including federal, state, and local laws.
+ Familiarity with long-term care billing and other aspects of accounts receivable.
+ Strong data analysis and spreadsheet management skills using MS Excel, including formulas such as sum if, pivot tables, date functions, etc.
+ Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Ability to type 30 words per minute.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
+ Experience with accounting software.
+ Interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 1+ years of experience in accounts receivable preferred in the long-term care industry.
+ Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and application.
+ Working knowledge of medical health insurance benefits.
+ Experience utilizing automated accounting systems.
Work Environment
The work takes place in an office at a long-term care facility, surrounded by patients. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.96/hr.
