Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist Job Description The Accounts Receivable Clerk will manage the accounts receivables of designated stores and the Distribution Center, adhering to the standards and policies set by the head office. Responsibilities + Contact clients in the designated territory to ensure account payments are made and follow up on outstanding balances. + Provide answers to customer questions about their accounts. + Complete and submit weekly reports to managers. + Collaborate with Sales Representatives, District Managers, and Store Managers regarding accounts receivable. + Perform various administrative tasks such as filing and photocopying. + Perform any other related duties as required by the immediate supervisor. Essential Skills + 1-3 years of experience in collections with a strong emphasis on reconciliations. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at a basic-intermediate level, with basic data entry capabilities. + Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to build rapport, engage in small talk, and effectively follow up with customers. + Ability to contact 30-40 customers per day, equating to about 4-5 customers per hour. + Experience with PeopleSoft. + Possession of an accounting diploma. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Accounting education, such as a diploma or certificate, is advantageous. + Experience with PeopleSoft is beneficial. + A personable demeanor with the ability to engage in small talk and ask questions. Work Environment Initially, the role requires being in the office for 6 months to a year before transitioning to a hybrid model, with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. The hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling a 37.5-hour workweek. The team consists of 22 people, and the role involves dealing with customers on the phone for over 6 hours per day, which can be high-stress. The office is accessible via nearby transit at Chinook Station, and parking is available on-site. The position reports to management who have extensive experience within the company. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.64 - $25.64/hr.
