Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist
Seeking an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist in the Olathe Area!!

Job Description

The role involves making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while maintaining and enhancing customer relations. You will be tasked with reviewing and monitoring assigned accounts and applicable collection reports, ensuring timely follow-ups on payment arrangements or non-payment situations. Use your judgment when evaluating credit reports to establish credit lines for new customers and reassess current customers for credit limit adjustments. Communication with the Customer Service/Sales Department regarding customer claims for credit or billing errors is essential.

ResponsibilitiesMake outbound collection calls in a professional manner.Review and monitor assigned accounts and collection reports.Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements or non-payment.Evaluate credit reports to establish credit lines for new customers.Review current customers for credit limit adjustments.Communicate with Customer Service/Sales Department regarding claims for credit or billing errors.Work efficiently with Excel and company accounting software.Minimal billing through web-based billing portals for assigned customers.Identify issues contributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.Set up new customers or revise customer data in WDS software.Collaborate with the Cash Applications department on payment posting issues.Retrieve packing lists and PODs for customers to assist in processing payments.Review customer orders multiple times a day prior to shipping, evaluating payment history.Research short-paid invoices for resolution.Retrieve and email invoices to customers as requested.Essential Skills1+ year of collections experience required.Experience in B2B collections (not on an auto-dialer).Portfolio management of large customers.Experience in researching accounts.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, preferably with experience in Pivot Tables.A minimum of 1 year of tenure in previous roles.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong skills in accounting and collections.Customer service expertise.Experience in accounts receivable collections.Knowledge in credit and collections, invoicing, billing disputes, and aging reports.Work Environment

This role will be based in our brand new modern office located in Olathe, which houses a large Accounts Receivable team. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. There is potential for remote or hybrid work arrangements, depending on progress and performance. Currently, most employees are fully remote due to ongoing construction, with plans to return to part-time office work soon. The office boasts a positive environment with opportunities for growth and a good bonus structure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
