Location: Middlebury, CT

Pay: $26/hr. – $30/hr.

A growing company is currently hiring for an Accounts Payable Specialist to own the end-to-end AP process. This role will support invoice processing, vendor management, and payment controls, while also contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking professional with strong experience in three-way matching and high-volume AP operations.

Responsibilities Include:Process 400–600 invoices monthly using GreatPlainsPerform 3-way match (PO/receipt/invoice) for inventory purchases, including partials and backordersEnter non-PO invoices with proper GL and department codingValidate pricing, quantities, terms, freight, and surcharges; resolve variancesSet up and maintain vendor records, including terms and contact detailsReconcile vendor statements; manage credits, short-pays, and unapplied cashRespond to vendor inquiries and manage shared inbox professionallyPrepare weekly payment runs (ACH, checks, credit cards); capture early-pay discountsProcess credit notes, restocking fees, and return authorizationsMaintain strong internal controls and documentationCollaborate with Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Accounting teamsProvide feedback on process improvements and system efficienciesTop Skills – Must HavesAccounts Payable experience (400–600 invoices/month)Three-way match expertise (PO/receipt/invoice)Vendor management and customer service skillsCredit and return managementProcess improvement mindsetSecondary Skills – Nice to HavesGeneral ledger knowledgeExperience with ERP systems (GreatPlains, Epicor, QuickBooks)QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accountingExperience with GreatPlains or similar ERP systems highly desirableStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationProven ability to collaborate cross-functionallyEmployee Value Proposition (EVP)Join a growing company with the opportunity to make the role your ownWork in a collaborative, supportive environmentGain exposure to cross-functional operations and leadership
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
