Accounts Payable Manager
Job Title: Accounts Payable ManagerJob Description We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to establish and oversee our Accounts Payable (AP) function. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence through team leadership, process optimization, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities + Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. + Partner with business units and corporate departments to streamline AP workflows, troubleshoot issues, and meet monthly close deadlines. + Maintain strong working relationships with internal partners across Operations, Accounting, Project Accounting, and Sales to ensure service alignment and responsiveness. + Champion and implement process improvements, tools, and templates that elevate AP efficiency and scalability. + Drive adoption of intelligent automation solutions such as OCR and document scanning to improve data processing accuracy and speed. + Administer Concur for expense reporting and reimbursement, ensuring policy compliance and maximizing tax reporting benefits. + Establish and maintain rigorous controls aligned with corporate policies and SOX requirements. + Ensure readiness for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support. + Track and report on AP performance indicators, including early payment discounts and exceptions to standard payment terms. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related analytical discipline. + 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable or broader financial operations. + Proven background in Shared Services environments, with preference for exposure to manufacturing or asset-intensive sectors. + 3–5 years of demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing team members. + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), with working knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards. + Deep familiarity with end-to-end AP workflows, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation procedures. + Exceptional analytical thinking, organizational capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in implementing process improvements and intelligent automation solutions. + Strong management skills and experience in performance management. Work Environment The role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where team collaboration and communication with various departments such as Operations, Accounting, and Sales are essential. The position requires proficiency with ERP platforms and Microsoft Office tools, and it involves both strategic oversight and hands-on management of the Accounts Payable function. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cordova, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
