Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Accounts Payable Clerk, where you will be responsible for processing incoming invoices and performing routine accounting tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate handling of invoices, preparing journal entries, and maintaining thorough documentation according to company policies and accounting practices.

Responsibilities

Review all invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.Process high volume 3-way match invoices, handling approximately 4,000 invoices per month for a team of 6-8 people.Prioritize invoices based on cash discount potential and payment terms.Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.Reconcile vendor statements, researching and correcting discrepancies.Maintain accurate and thorough files and documentation.Sort and distribute incoming mail.Assist in month-end closing processes.Provide support for other administrative functions as needed.Enter invoices timely and accurately, processing over 50 invoices daily.Ensure proper approval of invoices in line with company payment approval policies.Prepare required reports and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.Scan documents, process mail, and complete filing tasks.Maintain both electronic and paper files within the department.Collaborate effectively with the AP team, AP lead, and AP supervisor.

Essential Skills

1+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferred, but open to entry-level candidates with an accounting/finance degree and internship experience.Proficiency in Excel (filter, sort, formatting, copy and paste, sum/if functions). Pivots and vlookups are a plus.High School Diploma.Strong communication skills.Ability to follow directions and work effectively with multiple systems.Tech-savvy and office savvy, with experience in Outlook and Excel.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 2 days of remote work and 3 days in the office. The specific in-office days are flexible, with everyone working remotely on Fridays. The office team consists of 9 members, and the dress code is business casual. Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Initial training will occur in the office for 4 days a week over the first 4-6 weeks or until the candidate is ready.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
