Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role involves processing incoming invoices and performing routine accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations. You will play a crucial part in maintaining our company's financial integrity by reviewing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and assisting with month-end closing.

Responsibilities:Review all invoices and check requests for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.Process high-volume 3-way match invoices, handling approximately 4,000 invoices per month for a team of 6-8 people.Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.Respond promptly to all vendor inquiries.Reconcile vendor statements and research and correct discrepancies.Maintain thorough and accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.Sort and distribute incoming mail and assist with month-end closing.Provide backup support for other administrative functions as needed.Enter invoices timely and accurately, processing 50+ invoices daily.Ensure proper approval of invoices in accordance with company payment approval policies.Prepare required reports and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.Qualifications:1+ years of Accounts Payable experience preferred, or a sharp entry-level candidate with an accounting/finance degree and internship experience.Proficiency in Excel, including filter, sort, formatting, copy and paste, sum/if functions.High School Diploma required.Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.Comfortable working with multiple systems.Knowledge of AP/General Ledger systems and procedures.Experience with Coupa and SAP is highly preferred.Tech-savvy with office software such as Outlook and Excel.Understanding of Louisiana taxes is a plus.Degree in a related field is a plus.Experience with Avantis, Cass, BOSS, and Transpay is beneficial.Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, professional demeanor, and reliability.Strong organizational and time management skills.Problem-solving skills and basic accounting principles knowledge.Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work environment with three days in-office and two days remote each week. The team consists of nine people, operating in a large corporate office with business casual dress code. Working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Training will be conducted in-office for the first 4-6 weeks or until the candidate is ready.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
