Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Technician to join our team, focusing on collections and assisting franchise owners with financial issues to maximize efficiency. The role involves maintaining strong franchise relationships and preparing financial reports while working within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain full-cycle bookkeeping, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements for franchisee accounts.Analyze financial data to identify trends, support budgeting, and recommend cost-saving strategies for franchise operations.Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoice preparation, payment processing, and dispute resolution with franchise owners.Conduct reconciliations of complex accounts, resolving discrepancies and minimizing bad debt exposure.Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts for management, supporting strategic decision-making.Train franchisees and internal staff on financial systems, processes, and compliance requirements.Lead preparation of audit documentation and support financial analysis for regulatory submissions.Build and maintain strong relationships with franchisees and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless financial operations.Support the Operations Teams, Finance, and other support staff with various reports, analysis, and documentation.Update daily trackers and maintain internal systems to ensure accurate franchise status.Work to clear cash on account, managing large data sets efficiently.

Essential Skills

Minimum 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience, including reconciliations, collections, bad debt, credit and debt memos, and invoice disputes.Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, H&V lookup, and formulas.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or commerce.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.Knowledge of accounts receivable and/or restaurant operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with ERP systems.SAP experience is an asset.Bilingual in French is a plus.Industry experience, particularly in Franchise Operations, Finance, or Accounts Receivable.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position with the requirement to attend the office for training. The office is located in West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The work schedule is a standard 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
