**Job Title: Accounting Manager**
**Location: Charlotte, NC or remote**
**Pay Range: $50-$65/HR**
**Job Summary:**
Jefferson Wells is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our Charlotte-based client for a contract engagement. This role will be responsible for managing the month-end and quarter-end close processes, reconciliations, journal entries, account clean-up, accruals, fixed assets, and cash management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Month/Quarter-End Close** : Lead and manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.
+ **Reconciliations** : Oversee the preparation and review of account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
+ **Journal Entries** : Approve and review journal entries prepared by the accounting team, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
+ **Account Clean-Up** : Manage the clean-up of accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
+ **Accruals** : Oversee the calculation and recording of accruals, ensuring accurate reflection of expenses and liabilities.
+ **Fixed Assets** : Manage the accounting for fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
+ **Cash Management** : Oversee cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and liquidity management.
+ **Team Leadership** : Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
+ **Compliance** : Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
+ **Reporting** : Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for financial decision-making.
+ **Continuous Improvement** : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
+ Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
+ Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
