Accounting Specialist
Job Title: Accounting Specialist Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist with a strong background in QuickBooks Online and full-cycle AP. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, face-to-face environment and is eager to grow within a dynamic team. It is required for the ideal candidate to have a full understanding of the AR/Receivables process as well. Responsibilities + Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including processing 200–250 invoices monthly and issuing 20–30 checks weekly. + Transition payments to ACH and maintain accurate records to ensure timely payments. + Assist with month-end close procedures and collaborate with internal departments, including regular interaction with leadership. + Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies. + Responsible for accurate coding, verification, and electronic entry of Accounts Payable data into an Automated Accounting Systems. + Conduct weekly check, ACH, & wire payments to vendors. + Perform research as requested by internal/external auditors and Project Managers. + Maintain back-end scanning and record retention. + Serve as a backup for Accounts Receivable Clerk, Quarterly Sales Tax Reporting, and Month-End Close of both software & books of record. + Interface with personnel at all levels, both verbally and in writing, and perform miscellaneous other office duties as required by management. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable. + 1+ year of experience in Accounts Receivable. + Experience with large ERP systems, ideally QuickBooks Online. + Familiarity with month-end close procedures. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Self-starter with a collaborative mindset. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. + Experience with Quarterly Sales Tax Reporting. + A go-getter personality with a 'go ask questions' attitude. + Comfortable working across departments and seeking clarity when needed. + Team player who supports others and contributes to a positive work culture. Work Environment The position is onsite with day shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. You will work closely with different departments and serve as a backup for the accounting manager during absences. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Englewood, Colorado. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
