Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description Colleen McAuliffe is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of a dynamic distribution business in Campbell, California. This role is pivotal in managing vendor relationships, supervising accounting staff, and ensuring accurate reporting of inventory-related transactions. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment and collaborate closely with Operations and Supply Chain teams to maintain efficient and compliant financial practices. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Oversee accounts payable operations, including vendor management, invoice review, discrepancy resolution, and payment processing. • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on performance improvement and workload prioritization. • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to maintain accuracy and completeness. • Implement controls around inventory accounting, accruals, and vendor rebates or chargebacks to ensure compliance. • Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics teams to address costing, receiving, and vendor-related issues. • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. • Support external audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation. • Identify and execute process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and scalability. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume or distribution environment. • Strong expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Proficiency in preparing financial statements and supporting external audits. • Solid knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entry processes. • Experience in inventory-related accounting and vendor management practices. • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals. • Familiarity with internal controls and compliance standards. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
