Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting department’s daily operations. This role will be responsible for managing financial reporting, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles and best financial practices.
ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.Oversee multi-entity consolidations and maintain the integrity of the general ledger across all 20 service locations.Ensure compliance with GAAP, including accurate application of ASC 606 for both long-term contracts and service agreements.Manage and mentor the accounting team (senior/staff accountants), fostering a culture of accountability and development.Develop and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and standard operating procedures.Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, coordinating schedules, deliverables, and responses.Lead financial analysis of SG&A expenses, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization.Partner with department leaders (HR, IT, Marketing, Facilities, etc.) to monitor and explain SG&A spend against budget and forecasts.Support budget and forecast cycles by providing historical analysis, spend tracking, and actionable insights.Update and assist in the development of dashboards or reporting packages that enhance visibility into the company’s financial results.Identify and drive process improvements, including automation of reconciliations, reporting, and allocations.Assist in system implementations or upgrades and support scalability as the company grows.Contribute to strategic projects, including M&A integration, operational efficiency initiatives, and business modeling.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in service type industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and contract accounting principles.Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains).Proven ability to manage month-end close, team leadership, and external audit coordination.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in equipment services, industrial field services, construction, or recurring service/maintenance industries strongly preferred.Experience with department-level financial management and partnering with non-finance leaders to manage spend.Exposure to financial analysis, financial systems transformation, or operational process design.Demonstrated experience with SG&A tracking, analysis, and supporting cost control initiatives.Experience in multi-location or multi-entity environments.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing environment and work cross-functionally with operations and leadership.Work Environment
The position is based in an office environment, located in Brentwood, TN or North Little Rock, AR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
