Accounting Intern

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Student must be sophomore level or above (preferably junior level after spring semester or quarter completed)
Working towards an accounting degree or business degree with accounting major
Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting course with a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting and financial principles
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
Motivated to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shadowing members within the Controller’s department as they perform their duties
Assisting with research, data entry, recording financial transactions
Working with Right Angle, Accounts Payable software, JD Edwards and other financial systems
Learning how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile data, track information, research information, and support the Company
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
General PC Knowledge including Word, Excel and Powerpoint, (beginner to intermediate user)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education is not indicated. General experience is not indicated. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidate is to work closely w/ Accounting staff on daily basis.
