Accounting Department Manager
Job Title: Finance & Accounting Specialist
Job Description

This role involves overseeing the company's financial operations, including managing both payables and receivables functions, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, analyzing financial data, and collaborating with other departments to support strategic decision-making. The position requires supervising a team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and coordinating with vendors and clients. It is essential to maintain financial records, resolve discrepancies, and implement efficient processes to optimize cash flow. Leadership skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

ResponsibilitiesSupport month-end and year-end close processes, assisting in the preparation of financial statements and other reports.Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.Develop, oversee, and refine internal processes through close collaboration with departmental managers.Administer proper coding, manage invoices, and document all processes and systems.Liaise with various departments to resolve accounting issues and explain cost-related questions.Verify transactions and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.Ensure 3-way matching, coding, and entering of invoices after necessary approvals.Examine and resolve issues related to purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoice processing.Validate invoices for payment and process payments.Investigate and resolve irregularities in outgoing payments.Maintain banking relationships, monitor bank transactions, and ensure adherence to internal policies and accounting controls.Prepare monthly accruals and application of incoming payments and AR reconciliation.Prepare AP & AR aging reports and provide training to new and existing employees.Evaluate physical contracts with products and billing plans, organize customer contracts, and evaluate agreements and invoices.Guide, prepare, and file tax returns on time.Assist with all audit requirements and provide backup for other team members.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.Knowledge in accounting procedures and principles.Experience in a supervisory role.Proficiency in computerized accounting applications and systems, including Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Working knowledge of SAP, with experience in Fiori version preferred.Proficiency in MS Office applications.Additional Skills & QualificationsFinancial analysis, month-end processes, accounts payable/receivable, and invoice processing.Experience in financial reporting and forecasting.Work Environment

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
