Job Description
We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to manage day-to-day accounting activities, including bank and account reconciliations, and preparation of monthly financial statements. This role is vital for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
ResponsibilitiesOversee accounting operations, invoicing, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.Develop and implement systems and processes to maintain accurate financial records.Reconcile all banking and financial accounts promptly.Manage all finance office records.Monitor financial reports and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.Handle bi-weekly payroll journal entries and monthly payroll accruals.Assist the CFO in preparing financial documents, such as program reports, financial forecasts, and statements.Support the CFO in preparing reports for the annual budget, disbursements, special analyses, and information reports for administration and the Board.Work with the CFO in preparing for audits.Essential Skills1+ years of experience in accounts payable invoicing, general ledger maintenance, journal entries, bank and account reconciliations.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or 3+ years of comparable work experience.Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and formulas.Advanced skills in office suite tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with QuickBooks.Non-profit industry experience.Work Environment
The role requires working onsite for 5 days a week initially, transitioning to 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home once trained. The organization consists of 80 employees and has a small accounting and finance department. You will have the opportunity to work for a good cause, with the possibility of permanent employment in the future, though not guaranteed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
