Accounting Associate – Garnishments

Job Summary: Processes garnishment orders and provides information to customers.

Essential Functions:

1.         Responsible for answering and processing garnishment orders. 

2.         Required to understand and interpret complex legal documents

3.         Communicates with employees, courts, attorneys, and creditor agencies providing information and resolving problems

4.         Enters data from legal documents

5.         Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and requirements

6.         Ensures accuracy of data by reviewing prior week data entry results on employee paychecks

7.         Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential

8.         Scans entered documents to employee garnishment record for document retention.

9.         Requires ability to write/create documents that provide information to employees, courts, attorneys, and creditor agencies

10.       Accomplishes job results by maintaining relationships with internal and external clients.

11.       Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

1.         Requires High School diploma; Associate degree preferred.

2.         Requires 1-2 years experience.

3.         Proficiency with 10-key calculator required.

Must be computer literate in Excel and Word; experience working with accounting applications preferred; PDI and Workday Payroll experience a plus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at a normal level.
