Accounting Analyst (Financial Reporting)
**Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:** + Completion of Phase 2 and 3 of NBB Finance Controls Framework Documentation Project. + Responsible for ongoing maintenance of NBB Finance Controls Framework Documentation (post-Project). + Responsible for the accounting for the LHB business (GAAP/IFRS 4): + Monthly closing of accounts in Oracle including posting of manual journals + Preparation of monthly and adhoc journals including supporting documentation + Maintenance of LHB memberwise report for UPR and DAC computation + Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts in line with US SOX requirements + Responsible for the preparation of the IFRS 17 accounts: + Monthly IFRS 17 runs (including preparation of data files) and data / output validations + Reconciliations between IFRS 4 trial balance (Oracle IFRS ledger) to IFRS 17 trial balance (FastPost) + Responsible for the preparation of LHB captive reinsurance statements, invoices and reconciliations + Complete quarterly and year end reporting exhibits to Head Office in line with timetable + Support in annual external audit + Review of manual processes to propose and implement changes to make them more efficient and reduce risk + Support the enhancements and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for LHB system and processes, to ensure that all accounting requirements are catered for + Supporting the wider finance team in various ad hoc projects **Key Challenges/Anticipated Changes in Environment:** + Familiarity with finance reporting risk and controls documentation. + Ongoing enhancements of IFRS 17 systems and processes including data challenges + Manual LHB processes + Be able to juggle priorities and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. + Be high degree of personal, high intellect, strong financial acumen; with professional integrity and be able to balance and apply accounting principles in a commercial setting **Developmental Value of Position:** + Works well independently and takes ownership to influence team environment + Possess a deep hunger and willingness to experiment in order to learn and grow further + Dynamic individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to productively interact with different colleagues **Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements:** + Qualified accountant or accountant currently pursuing professional qualification is preferable + External audit experience is preferable + Experience in SOX or similar financial reporting internal controls documentation is preferrable + Experience of monthly accounting close process in a fast-paced environment + Experience in Singapore insurance finance reporting and within an international environment is preferable + Familiar with MAS regulatory reporting requirements + Focus on strong control environment and experience of balance sheet reconciliations + US GAAP knowledge is preferable + IFRS 17 knowledge is preferable + Able to work under pressure and meet key deadlines + Experience on Oracle or similar General Ledger packages + Strong excel and general PC skills are essential **Personal Competencies Required:** + Team player who has a hands-on approach to achieving objectives with ability to motivate self and others + Results oriented individual with a drive for continuous improvement + Flexibility with the ability to prioritize work to ensure tight deadlines are met + Responsible individual who is used to dealing with people at all levels of the organization + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal + Attention to detail **About The Cigna Group** Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, is an advocate for better health through every stage of life.
