Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage various financial tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job costing. The role requires a proactive individual who can ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Enter payroll data and reconcile with payroll vendors.Conduct accounts receivable collections and communicate with customers regarding payments.Enter accounts payable invoices and communicate with vendors.Reconcile cash balances on a weekly basis.Review cash requirements to ensure prompt payment of invoices.Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.Prepare monthly and yearly financial statement reconciliations.Manage all company credit cards.Enter job setups and reconcile change orders and subcontractor setups.Maintain accurate project status schedules and generate weekly reports.Provide support for permitting, research, and client relations.Investigate and create project information documents for bidding and cost analysis.Enter time and material data into Spectrum software for client billing and report generation.Coordinate with outsourced IT company for updates and maintenance.Work on miscellaneous projects such as website maintenance and workflow automation.Maintain and order office supplies.Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

Essential Skills

Experience with Quickbooks, invoicing, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping.Proficiency in accounts payable, purchase orders, data entry, and Excel pivot tables.Knowledge of payroll, cash balances, and journal entries.Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma.1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is a plus.Prior experience with project management is advantageous.Experience with Quickbooks Online Advanced preferred.Familiarity with the construction industry and job cost reporting.Basic bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.Preferred knowledge in payroll and payroll tax reporting.Self-motivation, punctuality, positive attitude, and team-oriented.

The position is primarily in-office from Monday to Friday, with some opportunities for remote work. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whitestown, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
