Job Title: Sr. Accountant
Sr. Accountant – Packaging & Manufacturing

Join a global leader in sustainable glass packaging as a Sr. Accountant in our dynamic finance team. We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong experience in accounting operations, particularly within manufacturing, packaging, or distribution environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced settings and is passionate about driving accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. Reporting to the Controller.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable OversightManage end-to-end AP and AR processes, ensuring timely vendor payments and accurate customer billing. Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain comprehensive transaction records.General Ledger & Financial ReportingExecute core accounting functions including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and preparation of financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.Advanced Excel & Data AnalysisUtilize Excel tools such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas to analyze financial data and generate actionable reports.SAP System ManagementMaintain and optimize the SAP “cockpit” by cleaning outdated entries and streamlining workflows to support accurate and efficient financial operations.Deadline-Driven ExecutionPrioritize tasks to meet tight month-end close timelines. Provide responsive support to internal and external stakeholders.Backlog ResolutionIdentify and address payment delays, collaborating with cross-functional teams to clear outstanding invoices and enhance payment processes.

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role within a large corporationIndustry experience in manufacturing, packaging, or distributionStrong understanding of GAAP and month-end close proceduresProficiency in SAP ERP and advanced Excel functionsSolid grasp of debits and credits and financial reportingAbility to work independently and meet deadlines, especially during close cycles

Work EnvironmentContract-to-Hire: 6-month contract with the intention to convert to full-timeLocation: Onsite in Fairfield, CA, with occasional flexibility for remote workSchedule: Standard 8-hour shifts (8 AM – 5 PM or 8 AM – 6:30 PM); weekend support required during month-endOvertime: Available for those interested in earning extra hoursPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.26/hr.
