Job Title: Accountant
Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic team. The role involves payroll processing, data entry, maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, ensuring proper documentation, and preparing financial statements. The Accountant will analyze financial data, prepare reports, assist with tax preparation, ensure compliance, assess internal controls, participate in audits, and collaborate with other departments.

ResponsibilitiesProcess payroll and perform data entry for administrative tasks.Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential issues.Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.Assist with tax preparation and filing.Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.Assess and improve internal controls.Participate in internal and external audits.Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.Develop and monitor financial forecasts.Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.Recommend solutions to improve financial performance.Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.3-5 years of experience in accounting or related field.Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Experience with financial reporting and analysis.Strong Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of ASC 606 and accrual accounting.Experience with audit processes and journal entry.Familiarity with financial statement preparation.Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role located in Midlothian, VA, where you will work in a collaborative and supportive environment. The company provides engineering services to various industries, offering opportunities for involvement in innovative projects and professional growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/hr.
