Account Manager - Marsh Private Equity and M&A Team

We are seeking a talented individual to join Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Team ("PEMA") Team. This role will be based in Shanghai.

Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Team ("PEMA") is a dedicated global team of risk and insurance advisors focused exclusively on private equity and alternative investment firms, infrastructure funds, and strategic investors. The PEMA team’s core products and services focus on managing three key risk areas:

Fund-level risk M&A transactional risk Investment portfolio risk

The PEMA team is expanding in Greater China and currently has six members across the Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong offices. The team includes ex-M&A lawyers from top-tier international law firms, ex-Big 4 financial advisors, and insurance specialists.

We will count on you to:

Manage a portfolio of clients to maintain, strengthen, and expand the client base.Build and maintain a professional network with peers and stakeholders in relevant industries.Prepare and deliver pitches and presentations to prospective and existing clients.Work closely with insurance specialists to perform insurance due diligence for clients and financiers.Collaborate with insurance specialists to structure and deliver insurance solutions for M&A transactions and other client risk scenarios.Ensure all insurance placements comply with applicable regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.Support the team with other ad hoc projects, analysis, and tasks as required.

What you need to have: 

3 to 6 years of experience in the M&A field.Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and timelines.Demonstrated interest and commitment to developing in-depth insurance industry expertise.Willingness to network and build relationships with clients, advisors, and industry peers.Comfortable presenting and pitching to advisors and clients, both in person and virtually.Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft reports and prepare clear, professional presentation decks.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from other departments and specialist teams.Independent, self-motivated, and self-disciplined.Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).Ability to travel occasionally as required.
