Position Overview: Key Account Manager – Logistics & Freight Forwarding
Location: Kent, WA (Hybrid: On-site 1–2 days/week; remote and field-based otherwise)

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to oversee performance and relationship management for strategic customer accounts. This role combines on-site presence, remote work, and travel to customer locations, offering a diverse and engaging work environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Own and manage all performance-related aspects for assigned key accounts, ensuring service levels consistently meet or exceed expectations.
+ Translate customer scope of work (SOW) into actionable monthly and quarterly targets, supported by performance dashboards and strategic action plans.
+ Maintain strong customer relationships across the assigned portfolio, driving collaboration and continuous improvement in satisfaction and service delivery.
+ Identify and pursue tender opportunities with key customers, coordinating timely and competitive submissions with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Ensure post-onboarding solutions are accurately scoped and supported by cross-functional engagement from pricing, solutions, carrier management, and operations teams.
+ Oversee the creation and approval of business contracts and agreements, ensuring alignment with all relevant stakeholders.
+ Implement and manage a structured Business Performance Review (BPR) program for each key account, including professional documentation and follow-up on action items.
+ Communicate customer developments, SOP changes, and account updates across internal teams to ensure clarity and accountability.
+ Serve as the primary on-site liaison with customers, supporting shipping activities and resolving logistics, documentation, and transportation issues.
+ Coordinate all operational aspects of customer shipments in accordance with SOPs, ensuring seamless execution and freight forwarding management.
+ Lead shipment planning, execution, and monitoring, ensuring timely customs clearance and final delivery.
+ Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, transit visibility, and proof of delivery.
+ Collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure accurate shipment planning and execution.
+ Monitor and report shipment milestones, proactively communicating progress and issues.
+ Oversee accurate and timely rate quotations and pricing updates in coordination with the commercial team.
+ Reconcile freight estimates with invoices, investigating discrepancies and providing clear explanations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ 2–4 years of experience in an Account Management role.
+ 1–2 years of experience in inside sales, pricing, logistics, or freight forwarding operations/sales.
+ Solid understanding of logistics and forwarding products, pricing, and terminology.
+ Proven ability to build strong relationships in a matrixed, multicultural organization.
+ Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to translate strategy into results.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
+ Resilient, self-motivated, and performance-driven.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ High attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
